The Center for Advanced Medicine - South County is a new outpatient facility, jointly owned by Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, that is under constructions in South St. Louis County. The building, scheduled to be open in late Spring 2016, is located near the Siteman Cancer Center at I-55 and Butler Hill Rd. This new, two-story, approximately 84,500 square foot outpatient facility will include outpatient surgery, imaging, lab, therapy and Washinton University physician subspeciality offices including the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Internal Medicine, Opthalmology, Surgery and OB/GYN. The surgery suite includes two operating rooms and two minor procedure rooms. Imaging Services will include plain film, CT, MRI and screening mammography.

Role Purpose

Performs registration/scheduling and provides administrative support for the entire Rehabilitation Services Department.


Responsibilities

  • Manages department data and performs medical record management by processing medical record requests and coordinating with Health Information Management representative.
  • Manages patient and department schedules, including but not limited to, new patient referrals, ongoing patient visits, wait list management, and patient attendance events.
  • Greets patients and enters charges, collects payments, and prepares deposits.
  • Ensures that all patients have been registered, that authorization for treatment has been obtained, insurance benefit verification has been completed, and that documentation associated with patient visit is organized prior to the scheduled visit.
  • Assists with special projects, as assigned and demonstrates the ability, flexibility and willingness to manage an increased workload as department needs fluctuate.
